A lot of research is going into wireless speaker technology, with customers looking to use them with their portable devices like smartphones and tablets. Portability is one of the key selling points of these gadgets, and it’s no surprise that users now also want to get rid of the cables needed to transmit audio signals. Apple has taken the initiative in this field by launching the Airplay technology that allows you to wirelessly stream music to a speaker system.

However, Libratone, a Copenhagen based company, is now entering the US market with products that use this technology as well.

The two products that the company is bringing to the US are Libratone Live and Libratone Lounge. Libratone Lounge is the bulkier of the two, as it is intended for use in your living room. You can send audio signals to the speaker through both Airplay and the traditional method – using a 3.5 mm mini jack.

The Libratone Live is a portable product, which comes with a handle so that you can easily carry it from one place to another. However, one aspect that somewhat limits its portability is that it needs to be plugged into a power socket.

Both of these products can be used with Apple devices – the iPad, iPhone, iPod and Mac. You can even stream music from your PC if you have iTunes installed on it. The speakers will cost between $699 and $1399 depending on the version and color you want. But if you’re looking for a much more cost effective option for your upcoming trade show, just get in touch with our audio visual rental service.
