Vernon Computer Source $2,000 Scholarship – 2017

2 Scholarships will be awarded, one each in the United States and Canada.

Vernon Computer Source is pleased to offer a scholarship totalling $2,000, which will be awarded to students who show strong academic and career goals. Applicants must be working towards a degree, currently be enrolled in an accredited university or planning to attend university within the next 12 months. Verification of enrollment will be required before any money is awarded.

Finalists will be chosen and contacted during the first week of July with recipients being announced upon confirmation of university enrollment.

Fill out the form below and submit an essay of no more than 500 words describing your academic and career goals. Your essay should demonstrate a strong motivation to succeed and the ability to plan ahead.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • You are currently attending college or plan to attend in the next 12 months
  • If you are currently enrolled in college, you must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
  • You are a U.S. citizen
  • You must be working towards a degree at an accredited university

Judging:

The Vernon Computer Source Scholarship Review Board will do the judging. Emphasis will be placed on the applicant’s abilities to summarize their educational and career goals.  The judges will be focused on looking for applicants who have realistic career goals built on education.

Applicants who demonstrate the strongest motivation, desire, forethought and career planning will be considered finalists and may be asked further questions to decide the final recipient.

Fine Print:

Applications not containing required information or any essay not meeting the length restrictions will be rejected and applicants won’t be able to reapply until the following scholarship year.

Scholarships are granted in $500 allotments for a period of up to four years, as long as the recipient remains enrolled in college and maintains a minimum GPA of 2.5. We reserve the right to verify the high school and college transcripts of any applicant.

Applications for the 2018 Vernon Computer Source Scholarship must be received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, May 31, 2017. Applications for the 2019 Vernon Computer Source Scholarship may be submitted starting 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time, May 31, 2018.

If you are awarded the scholarship, you must contact us with enrollment verification by September 30th to receive the next installment of your scholarship. Failure to meet this deadline will mean that your current and all subsequent installments will be forfeit.
