Vernon Computer Source is offering a scholarship totalling $2,000 that will be awarded in 2018 to one student who demonstrates the strongest motivation, desire, forethought and career planning.


Applicants must be working towards a degree, currently be enrolled in an accredited university or planning to attend university within the next 12 months. You must also have a minimum GPA of 2.5 if you are currently enrolled in college and you must be a Canadian citizen.

How to Apply

Fill out the form on the Vernon Computer Source scholarship website and submit an essay of no more than 500 words describing your academic and career goals. The essay must also show a strong drive to succeed and the ability to plan ahead. The judges will be looking for applicants with realistic career goals built on education and those who have the ability to summarize their education and career goals effectively.

You must be sure to meet essay length restrictions and ensure that it contains the required information or your application will be rejected and you won’t be able to reapply until the following scholarship year.

Applications for the 2018 scholarship will be accepted until May 31st and must be received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on that date.


Judging will be done by the Vernon Computer Source Scholarship Review Board. Finalists will be chosen and contacted during the first week of July and may be asked additional questions in order to decide the final recipient.

The final recipient will be announced upon confirmation of university enrollment. Verification of university enrollment will be required before any money is awarded.


Scholarships are made available in $500 allotments for a period of up to four years, so long as the recipient remains enrolled in university and maintains a minimum GPA of 2.5. Vernon Computer Source reserves the right to verify the high school and college transcripts of any applicant.

You will never be contacted by Vernon Computer Source or our affiliated companies for any reason not connected with the scholarship program and your contact information will never be given or sold to third parties for any reason or under any circumstance.

By applying for this scholarship you agree that, if you are awarded the Vernon Computer Source Scholarship, your name and/or likeness may be used in promotional materials such as press releases, blog articles and news stories.

If you are awarded the scholarship, you must contact us with enrollment verification by September 30th to receive the first installment of your scholarship. If you fail to meet this deadline, you will forfeit all scholarship payments.

Applications for the 2019 Vernon Computer Source Scholarship may be submitted starting 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time, May 31, 2018.
