A large sales boom was witnessed this week with the new demand of HP, IBM, and Oracle servers ending up in an all around increase in revenue. The top companies leading the way in high end server production began to see a strong demand and market for the servers, promising for a healthy market in the future.

IDC’s Matt Eastwood, the group vice president of enterprise platforms, began to publically explain why this was such a significant point in the server market.

"Meaningful enterprise infrastructure refresh occurred across all geographies in the quarter. Although the public sector weakened, worldwide demand for servers across hosters, SMBs, and enterprise customers remained strong. This was the fourth consecutive quarter with double-digit year-over-year revenue growth as the market recovery extended from x86 servers to mid-range Unix to high-end mainframe class systems for the first time in nearly three years."

It’s definitely impressive to see a market demand for high end servers like these high-end mainframe class systems, and this improvement in demand must be catered to by all the leading companies in the business. HP, IBM, and Dell, the main leaders in server production and improvement have all received increased sales and revenue of at least 9.7 percent. Companies lik Oracle, which had bought out Sun’s server corporation, also performed well.

Boom in Server Profits from IBM, Oracle, HP Herald Good Things for Server Rental Market

In fact, the only company that did not show an increase in revenue was Fujitsu which only holds 4.8 percent of the server market.

Oracle’s Sun server had recently been thought of as “dormant” in the market, and the other companies were stagnant in revenue, but this shows a new set of variables for all server related futures. Suddenly server renting companies like Hamilton Rentals and Vernon Computer Source have a great market to introduce new brands and models of servers to interested clients. With much more demand for servers, especially high end servers and Unix based systems, it will be easy for businesses to find, purchase, and rent better servers for their computing systems in this market.

What does this mean for a business that was thinking of taking advantage of one of our server rental options? Well, with the high demand, there are likely to be many server related transactions in the future, and we are well poised to service this new market in both North America and Europe.
