A recent survey conducted by ChangeWave Research, a renowned research firm, revealed that tablets continue to gain popularity among consumers.
Although the iPad, which as you would know is available through our iPad rentals service, is still the hot favorite among consumers, the demand for other tablets like Kindle Fire is significant.
ChangeWave revealed that nearly 14 percent of the respondents were planning to buy a tablet within three months, which is double the number from the survey that was conducted in August. Sixty-five percent of people, from among the 14 percent who have decided to purchase a tablet, are planning to buy an iPad. Although the majority of people still prefer to purchase Apple's device, other tablets like Kindle Fire too have attracted many prospective customers. Kindle fire is now the second leading player in the tablet market in terms of demand, as 22 percent of the people who are planning to purchase a tablet said they have decided to opt for a Kindle Fire.
ChangeWave said that the reason behind the success of the iPad is customer satisfaction. The research firm found that 74 percent of the iPad owners are very happy and satisfied with the device, while only 49 percent of the people who owned other tablets said that they are happy with the tablet they own.
Some of the analysts believe that nearly 5 million Kindle Fire devices will be sold during the Christmas quarter. ChangeWave also said that the tablet market hopes of other manufacturers like RIM, Dell, Toshiba, HP and Motorola have suffered a blow because of Kindle Fire.
