Sony Delves into SXRD 3D Projector Rental Options With VPL-HW30ES Release
In the United Kingdom, Sony just came out with a SXRD 3D projector geared at the European and Japanese markets. And, for a portion of the actual purchase price, it can be rented by Vernon Computer Source or its European affiliate, Hamilton Rentals. The VPL-HW30ES has full HD 1080p support, a 70,000:1 contrast ratio, and lights up to the tune of 1,300 lumens. It’s most desirable feature, of course, is its enhanced 3D capabilities. 3D technology is a fairly sought after advance, with corporate customers wanting to showcase the new tech at their tradeshow and conference booths. These projectors are also desired in the boardroom, as they lend presentations a certain additional zest. Users will need to wear active-shutter 3D glasses in conjunction with an IR sync device – but at least the eyewear is relatively lightweight. The glasses are actually wireless and battery powered, with a charge that lasts over 30 hours for every 30 minutes of charging. This projector has a hefty price- tag of $4,600 odd dollars, but that’s a much more affordable price than seen previously in this burgeoning technological niche. While considered mid-level, the Sony VPL-HW30ES mirrors several features present on the more expensive Sony VPL-VW90ES projector (but clocks in at half the price).
Designed for small- to medium-sized venues, the Sony VPL-HW30ES might not meet all of your needs, but it should come close. Don’t let its pricing be a deterrent – by renting one of these as a projector rental, it can be enjoyed on a temporary basis. You can get what you need for a fraction of the cost. And chances are, the design will trickle down to lesser markets, making the technology (eventually) more affordable on the whole. Details are a little slow in coming, especially as to when we can expect to see this projector state-side, but it’s sure to cause a multi-dimensional shake-up. |
