Mainstream consumers are just beginning to appreciate the wonders of a rapidly advancing, television-centric marketplace. Thanks to new innovations with 3D technology, among other things, next gen LCD sets bring a lot more to the table than their predecessors.

Billed as “smart TVs,” some of the latest models come from LG and Samsung. Part of that “smart” billing means the inclusion of integrated web browsing, app marketplace access and content organization functionality. Other features that are becoming expected as standard are variations on 3D technology, such as that offered by the Samsung D8000 series.

When the Samsung D8000 Series first made its debut at CES 2011, with its built-in WiFi, 3D compatibility, LCE (local contrast enhancer), and Real Black picture enhancement features, it made quite a splash.

But that should come to no one’s surprise. On paper its impressive sounding: it’s an LED, 3D television that comes in many different sizes, including a 60 inch model. It packs several tuner types including Freesat, Freeview and PVR functionality through USB – and it’s a harbinger of the next technical wave.

And while the D8000 line is enhanced by micro-dimming, a revised Smart TV hub, and several noise and motion related improvements; but it has another “cool factor” – it’s touch screen remote. The remote on the D8000 is similar to an Apple iPhone in design and function, giving it an appealing sort of usability.

The D8000 Series retains an impressive aesthetic. For example, the bezel (or frame) around the screen has shrunk from 28 millimeters to five millimeters after only a year of development -- which is a major improvement over previous models. A smaller bezel will result in a less uninterrupted viewing experience.

One of the significant drawbacks towards 3D adaption has been the technology of the required glasses. They’ve been chunky, heavy, and something of a restriction. But according to Which?, the Bluetooth shutter glasses that come along with the D8000 Series are “super lightweight, flexible and very comfortable 3D glasses. They put all the electronics around back to give it a light-weight and even feel.”

This sort of innovation stands out in a booth or at a trade show, as the crystal clear picture and 3D imagery is a sight not often seen. To take advantage of our Samsung D8000 LCD rental units today, visit Vernon Computer Source’s website and fill out a hassle-free FlexQuote.
