Projector Rental News: Comprehensive Worldwide Market Performance Lookin’ Good
Research group Pacific Media Associates, or PMA, has show a worldwide upward trend in the front projector market. The numbers indicate a 13 percent growth for the first quarter of 2011 compared to that of last year’s first quarter stats. PMA is a California-based, high-tech market research publishing firm specializing in providing information on large-screen display products, markets and manufacturers, according to the company website. The focus of its studies primarily center on technologies that can produce a 25 inch (diagonal) or larger picture on a wall or screen fro an electronic signal. Basically, the AV equipment that we rent to businesses around the world. The PMA measured its data by separating the projectors into three categories: New Era, at under 500 lumens; Mainstream, at 500 to 4999 lumens; and High-End at 5,000 lumens and above. The numbers varied accordingly. Lower lumen level New Era projectors showed the largest growth; the newer, cheaper models were up a whopping 95 percent. Conversely, the older, bigger models were up only 3 percent, and in the middle were the High-End projectors showing a 29 percent growth. Showing the fastest growth were ultra short throw range projectors, doubling its share from 2010’s first quarter to 2011’s first quarter. The research firm further found strong mainstream growth for widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) WXGA resolution projectors—increasing from just under 10 percent to 13.5 percent of the market.
