On-Premise Server Rentals Get Run for Money as AISN Puts SharePoint on the Cloud

When it comes to properly outfitting its server rental offerings, Vernon Computer Source takes care of proprietary SPLA agreements with several of the world’s leading software makers – including Microsoft.

But what’s better than a rented, less-than-full-price server with fully-enabled server software?

The ability to take applications like SharePoint to the cloud.

While our solutions are great for on-premise needs, or for larger companies with their own IT resources on hand that can manage the servers and the software, certain businesses want to host their environments off site.

They’re getting a helping hand from AIS Network (AISN). AISN will be allowing businesses in need of cloud services to move their SharePoint servers and workloads to the cloud.

The company, known for often certain managed services, such as IT hosting, custom solutions building and support for complex hosting infrastructures, is making this move in light of the world’s bold strides towards virtualization.

AISN’s move comes thanks to a new deal struck with Microsoft – it will be the first company in the world to achieve the status of being a Microsoft Authorized License Mobility Partner.

AISN CEO Jay Atkinson shared his thoughts on the new capabilities. He said, "Take your in-house Microsoft SharePoint Server licenses and move them to the cloud, seamlessly, because when you host SharePoint with AISN, you can now place your licensed software in our hosted environment, instead of only on-premise."

Atkinson added, "So, if you’re a business that’s fed up with hosting your own SharePoint and you’re ready to rely on a SharePoint hosting provider to do it for you, you are now finally free to take that last step into cloud hosting."

Businesses now have a reason to move SharePoint towards a virtualization platform. The licensing restrictions, previously a deterrent for IT managers, have been lifted from AISN clients. This will allow AISN and Microsoft to move users with pre-existing, on-premise licenses directly to the cloud… without causing them to have to purchase all new licenses.

For clients with increasing data center needs that aren’t ready to embrace the cloud – or prefer, for security reasons – to have their data close at home, there’s always servers with SPLAs to rent.
