Nook Tablet and Kindle Fire Set to Shake Up the Tablet Market

Nook Tablet and Kindle Fire

Analysts believe that mini-tablets like the Nook from Barnes & Noble and Kindle Fire from Amazon will shake things up in the tablet market.

The advantage of these two tablets is that they can accomplish nearly 80 percent of the tasks that an iPad can, but cost nearly half of Apple's basic model. Besides, these are backed by two reputed companies that consumers trust. These factors could help Nook Tablet and Kindle Fire make a big impact in the tablet market.

But not many people will bet on these tablets overthrowing the iPad, which is available through our tablet rentals service, from the top position.

The Nook Tablet will have many pre-loaded applications like Netflix and Hulu. It will also feature a vast collection of eBooks. Kindle Fire too will have its own set of streaming services along with the online library. Both these devices will feature non-Google-approved application stores.

Barnes & Noble claims that that Nook Color from the company is the second-best selling tablet in the US, behind only iPad 2.

The company believes that the Nook Tablet has an edge over the Kindle Fire as it has more storage than Amazon's device. Barnes & Noble has also said that the screen of the Nook Tablet and the technology used in it are better than Kindle Fire's. The company has said that its customer service too is better than Amazon’s as it has real stores.

If either of these tablets can show customers that there is a viable, cheap option to the iPad, Apple's device will suffer a setback. The same is applicable to other tablet manufacturers too.
