iPad Rental Industry Plans to Invest on Next iPad Release Regardless of Generation

It seems that rumors surrounding the next generation Apple iPad are still abound. While some publications whisper that the iPad 3 is closer than we might think, others are downplaying the innovation as merely a higher definition of the well-received iPad 2.

Knowing Apple’s marketing team, it’s probably the latter. Those guys could convince the public to buy an everlasting ice cube in the middle of summer.

Most publishers seem to agree with our feelings about a glorified iPad 2 release.

According to a source cited by The Washington Post, “…this new iPad would not be the iPad 3, but rather an upgraded version of the current model. The new model’s screen would have a double resolution screen, 2048 x 1536, and could be aimed at a higher-end market, such as video and photo professionals.”

Could a higher res display be enough to get the public salivating during a recession? Apple does have a particularly juicy habit of succeeding in that regard.

And while we wouldn’t mind a fancy new retinal display, it’s important to consider both sides -- there might be some more substance to this “iPad 3” rumor than first appears. And by iPad 3, we are talking about a product far more advanced, when it comes to features, processing speeds and specifications than the last iPad 2.

The signs do make us wonder. Take, for example, the report from Digitimes that Apple is seeking out additional Taiwanese manufacturers. This decision would be a result to the explosive incident at Foxconn which caused production in Chengdu to shut down.

Apple could be gearing up for a later release (say in the spring of 2012), but with them, no one really knows.

It was widely though that many of the cooler features of the Apple iPad 2 were actually available at the time of the original iPads debut. By sitting on the tech, they made a killing on the press for the first – and second gen – releases. Jobs’ company is now known for their marketing strategy as much as their innovation.

This hype and postulation about the next iPad release is worth a gold-mine… and one we’re happy to have a healthy stake in. Whether it’s just a fancy display upgrade or a truly game-changing product, we’ll be watching. And waiting. So we can be better prepared to offer the very best iPad rental offerings to our customers.
