PC manufacturer Dell is actively seeking to enhance its consumers' experience with its latest product offerings. The company recently unveiled XPS 13, an ultra-portable laptop featuring advanced technologies like Smart Connect and Rapid Start weighing just under three pounds. This thin, powerful device also offers a 256 GB solid state drive.

Dell has said that this high-end product, which offers around 24 hours of battery back-up, is suitable for both corporate and consumer purposes. This device also features the Datasafe online application from Dell, a favorite among corporate customers. It helps users protect data by storing backup copies with the support of the internet connection, on a storage site that is perfectly secure. Experts say that this device from Dell could possibly challenge Apple’s Macbook Air.

It seems as if Dell's entry into Ultrabooks indicates its exit from the netbook market. Dell also plans to enter the tablet market later this year, with the new tablets from Dell expected to feature Windows 8. The company hopes that the increasing demand for tablets and smartphones will not decrease the need and demand for PCs. It is with this hope that Dell is taking every necessary step to boost its PC business.

The company also has plans to expand its production capacity in Asian countries like China, where Dell enjoys economic benefits like inter-country business relationships. Some believe this will help the company do well in the PC business.
