Chinese Tablet Rentals May Lend Smartphone-Quality Features

Is it a phone or is it a tablet? Is it possible that it could be both? According to a recent PC World post, a new device is set to be released by Asustek Computer that will combine both the features of a phone and a tablet PC. Your latest tablet rentals may need to be updated to enjoy this latest capability.

Of course, the Asustek release won’t be the first tablet to offer voice capabilities as the Dell Streak first broke the mold. Some analysts anticipate, however, that this could be an emerging trend. If so, you could have access to tablet rentals that exceed your current expectations.

Already, the Taiwanese PC maker is teasing interested parties on Facebook, posing the same question I mentioned earlier – is it a phone or a pad? Of course, referring to its tablet as a pad may get Apple up in arms, if the product is considered a threat at all to the iPad.

So far, Asustek officials won’t really share much regarding the specifications of the hardware, saying only that it will be something of the order of a tablet merged with a phone. Of course, those of you leveraging your tablet rentals for content consumption may find it cumbersome to hold it to your ear.
