Libyan Innovators: Technology Revolution Sparks News on Tablet Rental
With the revolution raining fire on most of Libya, and the time quickly coming for the Dictator Moammar Gadhafi to get out of office, the rebels have used their young and innovative minds to fight back. With tricks like mounting C-5 Helicopter Rockets to their flatbed pickup trucks, they have found a way to combat their enemy. This peculiar innovation has sparked up news everywhere on tablet rentals and journalist websites. There are other prime examples of these young and rebellious minds fueling the drive to oust their dictator. Like men stringing together Grad rocket pods, power them with a car battery and use collected doorbells as the trigger to fire the weapons. If this isn’t resourceful enough for you, what about the men who are digging through literally ancient firearms storages and coming up with bolt action rifles which they are using to fight against Gadhafi’s rule. The men admit that they are not too accurate with the rifles, but the men who drive the helicopter-rocket trucks are not too accurate either. Abdulsalam Elshein of the "Free Libya Martyrs Brigade" was the one who fit the helicopter rockets onto his truck to combat the common Libyan enemy. When asked about how they were working, he responded: "It is an effective weapon with high accuracy targeting," Elshein says, "and praise be to God, it has an effect on the enemy." So they may not be accurate with their bolt action rifles, and the rocket firing trucks may be a bit of a stretch from as efficient as a helicopter, but it’s the drive that these people have that could make the difference. Apparently though, when Gadhafi sieged Misurata and prepared to surround the DIY Rebels, they broke free and began to march against the dictator’s forces towards Tripoli. As Congress tries to limit the U.S.’s involvement in Libya, it is interesting to watch the progress that these rebels are making, and with the progress of NATO and their recent bombings. Every dictatorship that we may have thought of fighting against may have a rebellion on their hands regardless. Are the people of a nation the true enemy of a dictatorship, and not the democracy that sits across the ocean from them? You might want to look this up on your tablet rental! Power to the people, and boy do they know how to make doorbells useful in war. |
