LCD Rental Biz Stands By While Apple, LG, Samsung Work it Out

Erin Monda's picture

LG and Samsung are two of the world's largest, most well-respected manufacturers of LCD screens. They have cornered the large television and monitor markets with ease, but it seems that the two collasus are going to come to a head in an arena of high desirability: the Apple iPad.

Apple is allowing the two makers to duel it out to see who will get the bid to craft the iPad 3’s LCD touch screen displays.

Now, we offer quite a few different kinds of LCD rental products around here – including printers, copiers, monitors, tablets and straight up monitors – but we always pay attention when a big deal like this is in the works.

Apple’s currently embroiled in a legal spot with Samsung Electronics, so it will be interesting to see if the company chooses that venue.

On the other hand, when it began manufacturing iPads with LG, there were certain manufacturing errors that occurred, causing Apple to default back to trusty old Samsung.

I’m guessing the big A probably shouldn’t have ever bit the hand that fed them (with the lawsuit and the LG-pandering and all of that), but what do I know.

I’m just a blogger.
