Laptop Rentals Get Shake Up; Live Video Streaming Enters the 4G Revolution Arena
It’s time for yet another tech revolution – this time it’s the 4G evolution. Wireless providers are setting up the infrastructure and consumers are getting on board – especially once they realize what 4G can do for them. Once upon a time I visited Sprint Headquarters, to attend a 4G demonstration that was open to the press. I got to play with the Evo and the Epic before they were released to the public, which was frankly, pretty cool. But while the other “real” journalists were taking their seats and preparing to take notes, I was loading up five-minute long funny kitty videos and clocking how long they took to loaded. On average, in Sprint’s 4G hub, the videos took mere seconds to load. The implication, of course, is that the technology is now truly in place to ensure that mobile video takes its role as the medium of the future. So it should come as no surprise that companies are developing ways to allow for live, streaming video footage to be ported out across a 4G connection. Dejero Labs Inc., has redefined live broadcasting through the usage of a portable Wireless ENG Platform. And, at Panasonic’s NAB exhibit, Dejero will be showing off its technology to a real, in-person audience – thanks to an integrated collaboration with a Panasonic Toughbook. The Dejero LIVE Transmitter software produces an HD/SD transmitter connecting a camera that can go live with the push of a button, via the usage of a video manager, an online system that transmits the video to receiving servers and receiving units. According to Dan Mance, Dejero’s CEO, "Collaborating with Panasonic on a new HD mobile video transmission solution offers broadcasters a view of a more flexible future for live and remote file-based transmission. Toughbook continues Panasonic's tradition of delivering no-compromise reliable computing for mission critical users and is the ideal Dejero enabled laptop platform." What’s clear is that for those looking for a quality laptop rental – there are now more options than ever. After all, the 4G revolution is here – and now users can transmit live video using a Toughbook CF-31 Laptop, a bonded 4g modem module, and Dejero’s patented direct-to-web streaming solution. |
