Laptop Rental Predictions for the Future; Smaller, Lighter, Better!

I feel somewhat like Nostradamus when it comes to laptop predictions for the future. Smaller, lighter, better!

Tim Bajarin, a writer over at PC World, seems to agree with my predictions – although he’s a lot less entertaining while presenting his version of things. Bajarin spoke with Jen Hsun-Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, about the future of mobile computing.

NVIDIA is especially poised in this area of the industry because of its NVIDIA Tegra 2 mobile chips. They are in basically powering every one of the best and newest Android OS-based mobile devices.

So what does positioned-to-be-an-expert Hsun-Huang have to say about the future of laptops? In his PC World interview, he said, “…we could eventually see low-voltage mobile processors running at speeds of 2 GHz and above in the not-to-distant future.” Hsun-Huang added, “This would include very advanced graphics processing as well.”

So what does this mean? The laptop rental industry is about to receive some dramatic changes, because most modern day devices are going to start looking like hunkering dinosaurs in the next year or two.

The new MacBook Air, Samsung Series 9, Motorola Atrix and Sony VAIO hybridized laptops all make a case for the lighter weight or hybridized laptop system. As even more tier one computer manufacturers get on board, this can be a trend we can expect to continue into the future.

So, cling to your tablets for now, because the next gen laptops are coming… with a vengeance. They stand to pose somewhat of a threat to the recently dominant tablet market, even as bellwether computer makers like Dell and HP are forced to drop out of the race.

Whichever way the wind blows, we here at Vernon Computer Source are happy to offer our clients a variety of tablet and laptop rentals – to suit whatever needs may arise.

Editor’s Note: If “Hybridatop” or Hybridatopus Rex” catch on – you heard them here first.
