iPad Rental Demand Predicted to Increase With Release of iPad 3

We keep a robust inventory of iPad rental units on hand, but it seems like another upgrade will soon be in order.

Vernon Computer Source started out with a few hundred first generation iPads to rent out. That need swelled around the time that the iPad 2 was released, and so the company adapted, taking on more stock to accommodate need.

And as word of a new iPad release begins circulating, we’re bracing ourselves. Further acquisitions will need to be made, and soon. But it’s not a responsibility we shy away from – our enterprise consumers expect the best, and the iPad is certainly something of the gold standard.

The Wall Street Journal was the first mainstream source to come forward with this earth-shattering news, and who are we to stand opposed to this media mogul? It may as well be an official press release from Apple.

According to the WSJ, "The next generation iPad is expected to feature a high resolution display – 2048 by 1536 [pixels] compared with 1024 by 768 [pixels] in the iPad 2 [for reference, the smaller iPhone 4 is 960 by 640] – and Apple's suppliers have already shipped small quantities of components for the sampling of the iPad 3. Suppliers said Apple has placed orders for a 9.7-inch screen device.”

But the real shocker isn’t in the iPads display size or speed. It’s the arrival date. According to all of the signs, the third generation Apple iPad will be making it s debut early on in 2012. If Jobs is smart (and we’re pretty sure he is), it will be even before then – just in time for the holiday season.

Apple’s put the gears into motion in true Sauron-esque fashion, as it sends out calls to its component assemblers and manufacturers. And they (Foxconn, et al.) will all gather to do the work that needs doing. Here’s hoping some tall tree-men and hobbits don’t get in the way.

Anyways, we’re well prepared for the big A’s latest debut – and we more than expect the requests for iPad 3 rentals to pour on in.

We’re just curious how -- and when -- rumor will yield to fact.
