iPad 2 Shortages Are on the Way; But We’ve Still Got Them Available for Rental

There are some reports circulating the net that the world might need to prepare for some iPad shortages.

The Chinese factories in which the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4 are manufactured are facing shortages when it comes to both labor and materials.

Foxconn, one of Apple’s major suppliers, is at fault for this issue, but the company has stated that it is doing its best to meet customer demand. Foxconn has over 200,000 employees globally and provides components, modules, logistics and services across the mechanical, electrical and optical fields.

Apple’s tearing up the market when it comes to smartphones, mp3 players and now, tablets – and it’s become downright gluttonous as a result.

DigiTimes initially reported on the possible issue, stating that a shortage is in place. The publication stated, “Sources from upstream component players have pointed out that Asustek Computer, Acer, Motorola, Apple, High Tech Computer (HTC), Quanta Computer, and Compal Electronics have all recently started acting aggressively in securing supplies of printed circuit boards and touch screen cover glass due to warning signs of shortages.”

If this is true, we can expect a buy-up of touch screen modules and other hard-to-get parts – and an increasingly aggressive competition between many of the world’s most prolific tech manufacturers.

Apple sales are booming hard, with some analysts claiming that the company has seen sales increasing to exceed 113 percent.
