iPad 2 Rental News: Consumer Delivery Hits Four Week Back-Up

Unfortunately, even the Apple Store is backed up on its sales. Certain industry resources are reporting that it can take up to four weeks for their customers to receive the new laptops.

Here in the United States, initial delivery estimates for the iPad 2 were for just a few days – but as of March 12, that figure has been pushed back to between two and three weeks.

This kind of popularity shouldn’t be expected, but Apple officials came out and made a comment to address the surprising boom. "Demand for the next generation iPad 2 has been amazing," Apple said in a statement to the press this week. "We are working hard to get iPad 2 into the hands of every customer who wants one as quickly as possible."

Tomorrow, Apple plans on bringing the iPad 2 to 25 additional countries. But our neighbors over the pond have learned a thing or two, and lines are already starting outside of the Apple Store in London (33 hours before the actual release).

Tablet-mania doesn’t only apply to iPads – the Windows 7-friendly HP Slate 500 sold out almost immediately, and is on back-order for several months yet. And the Samsung Galaxy Tab is also in high demand – most local stores only stock one or two, which can be a dilemma when companies need multiple units for an event or training session.
