With the launch of Folio, HP has entered the ultrabook market. The device has been designed specifically for business users on the go. It comes with a light and small form factor that makes it portable. It has a 13.3 inch display and a weight of 3.3 inches. With a thickness of just 0.7 inches, the laptop meets Intel’s standards to qualify as an ultrabook.
The device will hit the market in the first week of December. It will come with some of the latest features that most ultrabooks have -- instant start-up and slim design. It also comes with a battery that can last up to nine hours. HP has included an Ethernet port in the device. This is with the aim of providing an option for accessing internet in places that don’t have Wi-Fi.
Owing to its metal frame, Folio is a durable and sturdy device. Its palm-rest and lid have brushed metal. Restart and boost functions are quick, enabled by the Rapid State technology (Intel) incorporated in the ultrabook. An SSD of 128GB gives ample space that can be accessed when users are on the move. For additional storage, Folio comes with a USB 3.0 port. HP’s technology to help keep the system cool -- CoolSense -- has been included in this device.
Folio comes with a docking station that will offer enhanced connectivity when the device is being used at a desk. One of the key aspects that will set apart Folio from its competitors is Trusted Platform Module. It is a chip that can provide more security features than those on other ultrabooks.
