Epson Thrives in Projector Market Despite Adversity Overseas
Epson, a brand we know well from our projector rental line, has released 21 new projectors to meet customer demand at home, and in the office from SMBs to the enterprise. That’s not to mention the educational and government institutions that also find needs both short and long term for projectors. There were three new SVGA projectors added to the company’s S-series, like the Epson EB-S02 in addition to four XGA projectors for the X-series, and five models to the Evolution series. The models we carry at Vernon Computer Source are those directed toward business, education and government institutions with short-term needs for projector rentals like meetings, exhibitions, classes and seminars. The HDMI capability of models like the EB-S02 have been particularly popular because of their integration with other devices like the iPad 2. Vernon can supply the proper AV adapter to allow mirroring functions between the tablet and the projector. Even in areas experiencing the greatest challenges from natural disasters, like Thailand who is facing massive flooding, Epson has high expectations within the projector market for business, expecting some 60 percent of sales to come from business and the remaining 40 percent for personal use. With huge losses affecting the country, the company’s general manager in Thailand, Yunyong Muneemongkoltom said, “I think the flood situation will have only a short-term affect on customers’ purchases. Meanwhile, we are generating revenue in Bangkok and metropolitan areas that is helping to reduce affects from the current situation.” Thailand has faced damages from flooding since late July. The latest reports from the country indicate losses for not only the people of Thailand, and business both local and major Japanese-based electronic and auto-manufacturing factories, but also the natural habitat—like elephants who have had to move to higher ground and face food shortages and foot disease from the wet grounds. |
