Copier Rentals for Corporations Adapt for AirPrint
Printers have evolved alongside the rest of technology, and we are beginning to see wireless, WiFi-enabled printers become part of daily life. The printers, known as AirPrinters (for Macs) and ePrinters (for PCs) are making it into the both corporate and home environments. This valuable technology eliminates the need for wires and makes it easy to print from mobile devices like smartphones, tablet PCs and iPads And now, the AirPrint technology is even transitioning over to copier machines – a benefit which has obvious implications for a corporate environment. HP was the first manufacturer to really corner this technology, and the company has had something of a “stranglehold” on the market share… until now. EFI, manufacturer of Fiery copiers and printers, is now offering support for AirPrint on its products. The new, free software, called “PrintMe Connect,” allows wireless printing to be enabled from any iOS 4.2 mobile device – and it works with any Fiery copiers or printers. As per EFI officials, "It is a software application that runs as a proxy on a Windows system to enable AirPrint printing for Fiery-driven printers with System 8/8e or later software version." And according to the company website, PrintMe Connect, the software installs with minimal IT interaction required, offers a unique AirPrint solution geared specifically towards enterprises and corporations, lets copiers and printers receive documents securely and lastly, allows printing from any application on a mobile Apple device. In fact, the only technically tricky part of installation is that during the process, the network administrator will need to alter two existing ports. The benefit of this revolution in copier and printer technology is that companies or government institutions who may be renting copiers or printers can now upgrade to the latest, AirPrint-enabling software. They just need to speak to their vendor about their contract. Vernon Computer Source offers a variety of AirPrinters and ePrinters for its customers needs – feel free to browse our website or to enter in information for a FlexQuote.
