Avoid the Flying Lizard Strategy With an Infrared Digital Monitor Rental

Infrared Touchscreen Rentals Trump Flying Lizards Any Day

With so many different event marketing companies out there it can be hard for businesses to have their booths stand out from that of the competition.

While some suppliers turn to fancy banners and print layouts, others resort to “booth babes,” magicians, clowns, stuntmen and other human-related interest generators. In one example one of our clients gave, they’d used a man and his flying lizard to attract interest to his booth.

Here at Vernon Computer Source, we do our best to avoid the flying lizard demographic. We offer over $40 million in IT rental inventory – and we find that several of our customers, lately, seem to be new age marketers.

Some rely on tablets, like the Samsung Galaxy Tab or the Motorola Xoom to make a splash. Others are turning to digital signage units to cut down on the level of interaction needed. These options usually range in size from 40-80” and can be provided by a number of different manufacturers.

And as with all technologies, some of these LCD monitors outdate the others.

Take, for example, the first wave of display units. The earliest and most affordable ways to achieve a level of interaction was to do so via an overlay feature. While practical and cost-effective, the overlays would blur the screen’s display and affect the overall appearance.

LightPens, which are essentially pieces of plastic with sensors, offer another way for marketers or other business professionals to interact with a presentation.

But neither of these earlier technologies really lends themselves towards the final goal: a large, impressive digital signage display that is clear and impressive. After all, a booth is only as powerful as its appearance – and if you’re foregoing the flying lizards, the monitors you’re using had better make up for it.

That’s where the most cutting edge technologies come in to the picture. Infrared touch technology is changing the way that LCD monitors function – and it’s a pretty impressive development. Without the need for an overlay, these direct-from-manufacturer products often rely on a custom bezel affixed to the front of a CRT-harnessing LED rigging along the screens horizontal and vertical axis.

While we carry several digital signage units with this infrared advantage, the one that stands out from the pack is the Samsung 65” 650TS. It’s huge, the screen is crisp, and we’re finding that customer demand is high.

If you want to rent a Samsung 650TS, give us a call or visit our website. We offer a variety of other LCD monitor rentals as well.
